FAQ

Do you work with remote clients?
You bet! We work with clients via video conferencing and provide each client with their own secure document storage to hold session notes, reports, recommendations, etc.
What do you suggest to wear to local appointments?
We would suggest wearing something comfortable that is not too restrictive. Sweat pants or yoga pants would be a good choice for both sexes, for women a bra/sports bra would be advised under a loose shirt. Heart To Health Wellness doesn't require any special clothing or considerations other than what was noted as all of the services are performed with full clothing.
What if I cannot make my appointment? Or if I am late?
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us 24 hours notice. Otherwise you may be subject to pay for a full visit. We do understand that life happens and we can address on a case by case basis, but please offer as much courtesy as possible in these situations.

We understand that sometimes things happen out of your control. We do though have a very tight schedule and to be fair to all clients, we will need to adjust your original appointment to fit within the original scheduled time frame. Alternatively, you may need to reschedule to another time slot.
What is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is a process that focuses on the pillars of health. The basis of our practice is that the body over time becomes dysfunctional at the foundation/pillar level due to consumption of denatured and processed foods. We believe that focusing on and supporting the foundations of Diet, Digestion, Blood Sugar, Essential Fatty Acids, Minerals and Hydration can reverse bodily dysfunction without the need for traditional medications.
What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?
A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner or NTP is a certified therapist through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) who believes in the foundational approach to wellness as well as the importance of a properly prepared, nutrient dense, whole foods diet along with a well-balanced lifestyle.
What is a functional evaluation?

This is the primary mechanism that a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) uses to listen to the body. We believe that the body has an innate intelligence and will indicate areas of weakness through a series of body palpations that can then be an area of focus for transformation. The organ systems are surrounded by a network. When an organ is stressed, blood will be shunted to these areas to help to provide the necessary nutrition. It is this pooling of blood that becomes a source of tenderness that can be read by the NTP.

What is Lingual Neural Testing (LNT)?

The body has an innate intelligence to know precisely what it needs and what it doesn't need. This is a bio feedback tool that can be used by the NTP to perform a functional evaluation. Due to the electrical and neural connections between the brain and the organs, a process of placing a supplement on the tongue will either result in a lessened tenderness rating (the body needs) or a heightened tenderness rating (the body doesn't need) when the applicable point is palpated.
What can I expect from my nutritional therapy appointment?
There is the potential to experience different reactions to the various protocols in this program. For most of us, we have been in a state of unbalance for many years and maybe our entire lives. The body always tries to stay in balance and with these protocols, it will encourage the body to move more toward its natural balance. The result in some cases are the following:

  • Digestive reactions – These may appear in the form of diarrhea, cramping, heartburn, constipation as well as other digestive type symptoms. In most cases, these will subside in a few days to a week. However, we don’t want to stress the body, so we can either support the issue either by supplementation or whole foods, taper back the regimen or find another alternative. In any event, please work with us immediately to investigate the course of action needed.
  • Allergies/Sensitivities – These will present themselves as rashes, hives, headaches, joint pains among other symptoms. These issues stem from digestive dysfunction and in most cases it is best to try and find alternate protocol. Please work with us immediately to work through the issue to come up with an alternate protocol.
  • Healing reactions – These are probably the most difficult to understand as the actual symptom will look like something that we are trying to address. You may feel like you are getting the flu for example if we are addressing an immune system issues or you may have nausea if you are addressing Gall Bladder issues for example. For mild/moderate issues it is up to the client if they want to push through or cut back on protocol. Many organs and systems have been in dysfunction for a long time and with the sudden movement there will be impact on a system or organ that may have been sluggish for a longtime. This will usually subside in a few days to a week. For severe symptoms please call immediately and we can devise a new plan.
  • While most clients will see improvements in as little as one week, the typical course runs from 2-3 months to see lasting improvements. We advise setting up three month package plan for some clients.
  • Some clients will benefit from weekly follow ups. Others may only need once every two weeks or monthly. In any event, follow ups are extremely important to gauge where the client is currently at and make any necessary adjustments. Additionally, the feedback in most cases is very encouraging through this protocol and will offer a good degree of motivation to continue forward on your healing journey.
